King Kong (1933)
Filmmaker Carl Denham sails an expedition to the uncharted Skull Island, where they discover prehistoric creatures and a colossal giant ape named Kong. The natives capture Ann Darrow as a sacrifice to the beast, but the crew rescues her and captures Kong instead, bringing him back to New York City to exhibit as the "eighth wonder of the world".
